Production Notes:
Although steeped in nostalgia these Christmas specials were often thematically inconsistent — featuring clips from films that have precious little to do with Christmas or even the Winter season. This was due in no small part to the general scarcity of Disney programing in the 20th century were any excuse was made to showcase segments from classic animated films regardless of relevance, thus the inclusion of sequences like “You Can Fly” from Peter Pan and the Fairy Godmother scenes from Cinderella. Conversely, several shorts and sections from otherwise perfectly appropriate material was omitted.
This amalgamation of multiple specials seeks to synthesize the best parts of several Christmas compilations into one cohesive cinematic tribute to Disney’s hallmark holiday tradition.
